Too Soon - Poem

For those who regret

She's scared she gave it up too soon.

We’re all grown.

We all do stupid things

In the moment.

In the lust

Wanting to be needed.

So we rush.

Maybe she gave it up too soon.

Trying to fill up those places she'd been lacking

Desperate to finally like someone again.

she was just seeking some compassion.

feelings have managed to escape time and time again.

This time she saw It and held on to it.

reached a little too hard

leaped a little too early.

Got it over with in a hurry.

She definitely gave it up too soon.

didn’t give the sparks their chance to fly.

Or the butterflies to flutter.

didn’t get to know you.

And you didn’t get to know her.

But maybe that’s just how things are meant to be.

Hopefully the next one will be for me.
